This movie deserves an Oscar for makeup and for some special effects. I was facinated how they made his head appear large on a small body in the character's early years. The quality of the acting in the supporting roles, especialy the role of the caring mother, is very high. The story line is interesting as the boy was born old and dies young, and in the process explores for the viewer one interacts with society at different ages. But the irritating part of the movie was Pitt's acting. It was a repeat of his wooden acting in his role in Meet Joe Black. He mumbled his way through the script and seems to have only a limited range of voice modulation. He relied far too much on the makeup and not enough on the verbal.
