Sidney Lumet's adaptation of a Tennessee Williams drama. This second Marlon Brando-Tennessee Williams collaboration is unfortunately a tad disappointing with some very genuine redeeming qualities. Brando plays a drifter who visits a small Mississippi town and becomes involved with two women, Anna Magnani and Joanne Woodward. Well! I can't say enough about the great Anna Magnani who I don't think ever gave a bad performance. It's a true sensation to behold her earthy acting skills.
