    The Gay Divorcee

A very nicely done Astaire and Rogers feature, the film nominated as best Oscar film of 1934. As usual the cinematography is B & W which is exactly how I love to view these films, not colorized versions. As usual, the plot is meaningless as Ginger, seeking a divorce falls for Fred Fred (Guy Holden) who she mistakes as her representative. The glory is all in the music, singing and dancing with THE CONTINENTAL from the feature the first song EVER to win an Oscar in the 1934 newly created category. The long singing and dance number to the Continental is absolutely sumptuous let alone outstanding! The plot gets 1 but the totality is a seven.
