The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies

As someone who is not a hardcore fan of the Tolkien universe, I can honestly say that The Hobbit:The Battle of the Five Armies is utterly thrilling and without a doubt the fastest paced, most action packed entry of the entire 6-film franchise. It begins right away and rarely takes a breath for two and a half hours. The battle scenes are constant and epic, further enhanced by the Imax 3D high frame rate experience, which basically puts the battles right in front of you, as if being performed on a stage. It may be slightly jarring at first, but believe me, it's worth it. Now true lovers of Middle Earth lore may be less impressed than I, for they may find the sprawling, in-depth narrative that characterized the previous 5 chapters lacking here, because... well... it is. Yet for me, it just means this film is nearly an hour shorter than the others, with most of the stuff I didn't care about removed and leaving only glorious action in it's place. Hey, after 5 films, spanning over 15 hours, I think I'm entiltled to a little reward and this final chapter is exactly that.
