Ender's Game mixed with The Hunger Games. I like the way the plot developed. Until the end. Elements of the end didn't sit well, and as typical was more geared toward setting up a sequel. I also don't get the throw in one female girl into the mix. Seemed a bit odd, like one girl for a love story side plot. Not 10 girls for female role models and equality. Not zero girls. Nope, conveniently one, to fall in love with the hero.

If you read the books you would understand why the girl was in there, not for a love story. The books are completely different. So no the girl is not for a love story side plot. And yes the ending is to set up for a sequel.
