Most reviews I read prior to watching this movie warned me about it being really bad, and they were right. America 20xx, where once per year you can commit any crime you want. Great idea, but not quite well interpreted into a movie. It's the night of the year and it's everybody for himself. The rich families are barricaded in their homes with expensive alarm/anti-intrusion systems. This bloody stranger comes a-knocking, and of course the 12 years old boy decides to let him in. In comes the bloody stranger, and it's too late. Everything following this incident is just an avalanche of poor decisions made by all members of the family, one after another. The bad guys come knocking asking for the refugee, but nobody knows where he is inside of the house. Of course then it's followed by a chase in the house with no electricity, because it's been shut off by the bad guys. Quite ridiculous. Only in the end do you have some action, but even that is not enough to save this movie. What killed the movie is the family's idiocy, because they are just unable to make smart decisions.
