The original Purge squandered a good premise by retreating to your typical home invasion scenario and thus never fully exploring the twisted possibilities of what a night of consequence free murder and mayhem would look like. Thankfully this sequel takes full advantage of the Purge scenario and is a definite improvement on the original. It is tense and unnerving, with enough suspense and creepy characters to satisfy the demands of the genre. Don't think about it too much and you'll be moderately entertained.
