This movie is actually a remake movie (same name) from 1974. I imagine they followed the same storyline. Perhaps they should have kept the same time period instead of today's world. I was curious about the cast selection. They are fine actors and did a fine job. Lots of close-up shots to enhance their emotions (standard director's stuff) Travolta wasn't convincing as a "psycho". Maybe a young Robert deNiro, James Woods, or any of the Bond movie villains. Perhaps Morgan Freeman would have been a more believable and vulnerable than the role of Denzel Washington. And why have Tony Soprano as a mayor.. ? I fully expected him to pull out a cigar, and order his boys to go in and whack out the bad guys. And how is it that a professional negotiator can't negotiate his way into negotiating? The middle and ending had far too many flaws to be credible. The dialog was "tired" and predictable. I can't give you the examples in case you want to see it. I suppose I could mention that the bad guys didn't happen to notice an open online laptop that had been streaming to the internet for most of the movie. You should wait for the video.

James Gandolfini was the mayor, not "Tony Soprano", because Tony is just a character, and this is a movie. Not the Sopranos TV show.

You mean that it wasn't really Toni Soprano.. ? Lol... And I wasn't watching a TV show? Thanks for the update. If you read my review again I was merely pointing out the peculiarities in the casting choices. Do you have your mom's permission to use her computer?

No need to get immature. I was merely pointing out that actors have separate projects and not get typecast. It's like saying Danny Zucco was Ryder.

Eksince, you can't 'get' immature. You can be immature or act immaturely but you can't 'get' it anywhere. You should have thought your initial comments through regarding type-casting. Your comments implied that I didn't know the difference between a movie and a TV, or an actor's real name. By the way he was great in "Saving Private Ryan" The role of the mayor in the movie was a minor role and using TONY SOPRANO was overkill. A better choice would be some faceless, unknown character actor that would not pull away from the storyline. You have to admit that the first thing that went though your head when you saw him on screen.."hey that's the Soprano guy." Have a nice day eksince. The movie is now out of the theaters. I certainly won't be renting the video when I can watch season 5 of the Sopranos for free... lol.
