Really truly and excellent film, with graphics and images I've never seen before. Excellent story, very well executed, just amazing. I really really enjoyed it.

A perfect translation of a modern classic. This movie lived up to all my expectations, which is a pretty amazing feat all by itself.

Coming from Zack Snyder I was expecting the worst since I didn't like 300 at all. I went to see this one anyway and almost felt guilty of enjoying myself. It's not perfect and doesn't try to be. It's flawed just like the characters in it. I found it refreshing to see the heroes (or anti-heroes) of this movie constantly in battle within themselves. They are torn between doing good and elevating themselves above the masses just to have a selfish ego boost. If it was insipid at times, it also had the power to leave me deep in thought at other times. Would the world ever be like this if we let our inner demons win? A question I would rather not answer as all that's left in the movie is chaos and corruption. It's really an anti-superhero movie and I think that's why so many people didn't like it. If you expect good to triumph over evil in a fairy tale like ending, you will be sorely disappointed. That's where the film strength lies for me. It left me with many thoughts about the human race in general, our leaders, the decisions we take and where we could be heading. There's a few thing that bothered me hence the less than perfect rating: It's very violent (yes I expected it to be but there was no need for this much blood and guts) Why the sex scene between the Owl and Silk Spectre? Nice looking bodies but 5 minutes of wasted time. The last 10 minutes are not needed nor valuable in any way. Erase them from your memory. On a more personal note: Dr. Manhattan seriously got on my nerves. He's the only "real" superhero and his godlike powers make the rest of them look like children. When he killed Rorschach, I almost got up and left. The glimpse of goodness and humanity that could be detected in him at times suddenly vanished forever.
