    Buck Privates

Buck Privates from 1941 directed by Arthur Lubin is one of the very best of Abbot and Costello coming just as America was about to enter WW II. The two comedians were young, fresh and caused havoc in an army corps. It's all really hilarious, a comedy that bears a revisit. Added to the fun you will get the singing sensation of the era, The Andrews Sisters, Patti, Maxene and Laverne. And yes! This is the film in which they sing Boogie Woogie Boy from Company B, which received an Oscar Nomination for Best Song of 1941."The Last Time I Saw Paris" won that year. (Kern, Hammerstein) The musical scoring of the film by Charles Previn also received an Oscar Nomination... It's a film even today's so called sophisticated audience will enjoy immensely! One of the very best of A and C.
