    Has Anybody Seen My Gal?

Director Douglas Sirk, the King melodrama during the 1950's is here represented by a comedy, not his usual genre of film. Rock Hudson gets second billing behind gorgeous Piper Laurie in this dapper 'flapper' musical. The Oscar winning Charles Coburn (The More The Merrier, 1944) is the real star, however, as a millionaire who plays both Cupid and philanthropist. Interesting to see the young Gigi Perreau, but especially fascinating to see James Dean in a bit role.
