The great Mogambo from 1953 is a classic, set in Africa, romantic drama starring Clark Gable who played the same role 20 years earlier in a version called Red Dust. His co-stars from the 1930's were Jean Harlow and Mary Astor. In 1953, the female roles were taken by Ava Gardner in her only Oscar Nominated performance and Grace Kelly in an Oscar nominated supporting role. A messy love affair about to erupt is at the centre of the drama. Performances are top notch though Clark was a bit too mature compared to the other stars.
