This Stuart Cooper film from 1975 is an in depth account of a 21 year old's journey from basic training to finding himself on the front lines on D Day, during WW II. It is a harrowing experience full of terror and isolation all shown with an authenticity that will give you quite the jolt. The archival footage and fictional narrative weave together to become both a documentary of WW II but at the same time showing how small humanity can be in the face of incomprehensible and insurmountable situations created by man himself.
