    The Deer Hunter

The Deer Hunter is a very gritty look at the Viet Nam war as seen through the eyes of three mill workers from a small Pennsylvania steel town. Good plot development, great characterizations from De Niro, Walken, Savage and Streep. Haunting images of desperate men pushed to their breaking points. The inhumane treatment of POW's at the hands of their tormentors, the insanity of war and the climactic aftermath of lives shattered by an unforgiving war. The Deer Hunter can be very difficult to watch at times because of its subject matter. Haunting disturbing images that will be with you long after you view it. A very good movie that was groundbreaking when it came out. See this "Tour De Force" you won't regret it.
