    The Finest Hours

The Finest Hours wasn't as fine as I thought it would be. It was slow moving at times, with a love story that did little to move me. The scenes that take place at sea were, on the other hand, exciting. A big oil tanker literally breaks in half in very rough seas and what does the Coast Guard send to rescue the stranded seamen? One tiny boat that looks like it could fit about five people.  Spoiler alert - click to reveal textSince this is a true story, that little rescue boat came through and brought home 32 sailors. There are no memorable performances in this movie. The big star in this film is the Atlantic ocean. When it wants to, it can be a formidable foe for the men who sail the seas.
