The re-make of "The Postman Always Rings Twice" is more accurate to the novel as it can be much more in your face than the 1946 version which had to scale it down. We know the remake derives from an old film noir that is loved by almost everyone who has seen it. The Jack Nicholson/Jessica Lange 1981 version is very steamy and sexual, what the '46 version could not portray in an explicit manner. Canadian actor John Colicos comes across much better as the husband than tubby Cecil Kellaway in the original.
