    Titanic

This is a TITANIC based film from 1953 in the form of a romantic drama of sorts which I liked very much. Two accomplished performances by Barbara Stanwyk and Clifton Webb highlight this luxuriously melodramatic retelling of the sinking of the famous liner. A NIGHT TO REMEMBER (on the doomed Titanic) tells its story via the ship's personnel while the '53 version relates its plot via the eyes of the ship's passengers. NIGHT may be more authentic, but Titanic 1953 is a marvellous soap opera of the first order.
