    Trailer War

"Trailer War" Is a lot of fun. It’s filled with segments where you won't believe your eyes. If you are a bad movie fanatic and you want something to entertain your guests at a party, or be the life of the party and impress everyone with wicked sights and strange stuff, you’ve got to get this compilation piece from the Alamo Drafthouse.

It’s a collection of coming attractions from all kinds of different genres. Outrageous musicals, horror films, science fiction Star Wars knockoffs, Blaxploitation, teenage sex comedies, soft-core pornography, fantasy films and more form the line up of this 113 minute gem.

There's a pretty good range of genres and trailer styles so it's consistently entertaining. The movie lasts about 2 hrs but it goes by incredibly quickly and when it's over you'll be disappointed that there isn't anything left. Because there’s no story and it’s just a collection of trailers you can feel free to turn it on or off at any point, making it ideal to play while your guests are waiting for the popcorn to finish popping or a special someone to arrive. There are some really big laughs in here. Many trailers will start one way and take a complete left turn into something really unique and you're a fan of "so bad they're good" films you'll want a pen and paper to write down some of these titles. Many of these “coming attractions” look like they would be a ton of fun to watch. There are a couple of trailers that aren't as entertaining as the rest but that totals maybe 6 minutes out of the entire film so it's a minor flaw. If there’s something you don’t like there’s no need to worry, “Trailer War” will move on in just a bit.

Getting the Blu-ray AND the DVD was a great investment. No matter which party I’m invited to, I can bring a copy with me and impress the attendees with this treasure that most people haven’t and would never have heard of. And best of all it’s not even obscure or difficult to find! It’s just waiting to be discovered. Play in the background to generate conversation, a lot of WTF moments and some big laughs. I wish I could have seen this in a packed theatre, that would have been an amazing experience. “Trailer War” is tremendously entertaining. (Blu-ray, February 28, 2013)
