I had no expectations walking into this movie ( I don't watch trailers or read reviews till after I have seen the movie) I knew this movie would be big even without all the hoopla surrounding the film regarding the unfortunate death of Heath. I can say it definitely did that. I wouldn't say it's it's a perfect movie like some many other have indicated, it tried to be a darker more of a thinking batman than the previous films and I think to some degree it pulled that off. The acting put me off of this more than anything (Heath aside) Christian Bales batman snarl growl talk was getting annoying after 2 hours, and Maggie Gyllenhaal acting was horrible and she always looked and acted like she was recovering from a 3 day bender. No emotion what-so-ever. Heath performance, to me, saved this movie. I don't think one could compare Jack and Heath as they really are to different characters in 2 different movies. You could not have swapped the 2 respectively as they would not have fit that style of movie. Jack's performance fit the Jester like hyper kinetic joker of the first batman, and Heath's was the thinking chaotic mastermind of the dark knight. All in all I would give this movie a 8.5/10.
