The Stasi exists today, folks. That's the message this movie allows every watcher to take away. Today the controls are a little more subtle but the end result is the same. I watched this movie twice and took two very different messages from it. The first time the visuals, the acting --- flaw less both and the plot got me, actually took me back a bit, the second time I just sat there and thought oh f... This is happening all over again --except this time we don't have Commies and capitalists we've got oil companies fomenting a religious war and they've put a Clown in the White House (read dunking tank) so we can chuck metaphysical stuff at him to take our mind off it.
