Based on the Gustave Flaubert novel, this is the story of Emma
Bovary, the daughter of a peasant raised in a convent who
ends up marrying a health worker. Full of aspirations and
dreams she is soon disgusted with her boring and uninspiring
life in a small village in Normandy. Soon she becomes
Rodolphe’s mistress, until he leaves her and then becomes
involved with a cleric. Crippled by debt she poisons herself in
the presence of her husband.
