"Studio One" was a showcase for the best live TV drama in the early years of television. From 1948 to 1958, Westinghouse sponsored a show that delivered many seminal performances in teleplays written and directed by the likes of Rod Sterling, Gore Vidal, Sidney Lumet, John Frankenheimer and George Roy Hill.
