To open, I've never been a Harry Potter fan, yet as a result of the fandom, I've seen them all. For the life of me I'll never understand the credit Rowling gets for being a literary genius, one of the greatest of the last 150 years, in the opinion of Katherine Monk, who shed any ounce of remaining credibility as a writer herself with that remark in my mind. Rowling's entire career has been made by brutally and so obviously ripping off the original author of Harry's world. Subtly changing names is apparently all she had to do. I've always found the writing childish, particularly the dialogue. Most of the ideas within the stories, I've always found simplistic in the sense that they could have been written by a little grade 5 girl. I suspect this is why men over 30 seem to rate these much lower. When the series began, the kids were terrible actors with the exception of Harry himself. Him I always found passable as Harry. With this 'final' installment, the writing, particularly dialogue was weak again, the kids have grown into better, though not particularly good actors, and the plot was actually not too bad. The production from a graphics perspective was kind of cool at times. Still, way too many 'deep' scenes that I'm just not buying. If you cut many of them out, shortened the movie to an hour and forty minutes maybe, I may have had less trouble staying awake or interested. Still, some big effects, almost worthwhile use of 3D and likely great fun for most women, apparently, or younger kids. Guys over 30, most of you will much less likely be impressed unless you're really in touch with your inner grade 5 girl.

I agree with you completely! My husband and I thought it was pretty much of the same... They could have summarized the movie in 2-3 paragraphs. Well, the shots/filming were good, that's for sure but to make the last story or series into 2 parts? That was just money-making...
