If I had an 8-12 year old, I'd appreciate a movie like this and almost certainly my kid would, however as just adults going to a movie, it was very weak in terms of writing, dialogue or story. I've seen far better writing for cartoons, or fully animated shows aimed at this age group, but just for adults, this barely stands up. If extremely cheesy doesn't bug you, the visuals are pretty cool, particularly in IMAX 3D. For me that made it just OK.
