Though there's a lot to enjoy in this teaming of Mae West and W. C. Fields, the film has taken on classic stature more for their co-starring together than the comedic accomplishments of the film. The two stars, both control freaks did not get along which often shows on the screen. He wrote his scenes and she wrote hers. They do not appear in that many scenes together. Their mutual animosity adds to the comic friction of the feature which works in spite of everything.
