    The Killing Fields

Roland Joffé, a former cinematographer, directs this epic war drama of the deadly and evil Khmer Rouge in 1970's Cambodia. One can equate this to the horrors of the Middle East as of 2016 and long before. Just one of the many grand events of the film came to Haing S. Ngor who won a best supporting OSCAR as the Cambodian journalist. He was a doctor and had never acted before this film. On a sad note, he was eventually murdered once he immigrated to the United States.
