    The Thin Red Line

The Thin Red Line is a pretty iconic film as it recreates one of the great battles of WW II. Many loved the film and some hated it. My reasoning for this is the filmmaking of Terrcnce Malick which is often an acquired taste. The cast of men from Nick Nolte, Sean Penn, Ben Chaplin, John Cusack, Adrien Brody, Woody Harrelson, John Travolta, George Clooney, Jared Leto plus more great stars were then either in their prime or very young actors, all acquitting themselves very well indeed. The film was highly regarded by the Academy Awards earning nominations in Best Picture, Best Director, Best Writing, Cinematography, Sound, Film Editing, Music Scoring for a Motion picture and more. It was a tremendous success.

If this film of a true imminent invasion did not capture your imagination when first released give it a second chance as I did in 2016. The humanity factor of the film is so real as young and older soldiers go on a trip that encompasses the entire human condition.
