Some classic horror films should simply be left alone, this being one of them. The 1984 classic original still scares people to this day. This new take on the famous Fred Krueger was weak at best. If you're a fan of the original Nightmare on Elm Street films, this one will leave you disappointed.

I disagree with your first sentence. I think that remakes of movies can be or should be attempted especially with all the new technology available. But as we have seen movies like this one or Wolfman failed miserably to deliver. I think some of these director or producers are more concerned about marketing a movie than actually producing a quality remake. The original Elm Street was far more sinister and "scary" than this piece of poop. There was little effort to capture the essence of the Freddie's malicious dream pranks. It was like fast food at a drive through... and lacked freshness. It was pathetic.
Thank you for your reply but if you revisit my first sentence you will see that I said "some" not "all" when making reference to remakes. I'm sure there are remakes out there that not only recaptured the original audience but found a place in the hearts of a new generation as well. Simply put, this movie was a weak attempt at best and true fans of the classic Elm Street movies have nothing to look forward to here.
Thanks for the note. Yes they really dropped the ball on this flick. It had so much potential... They just put a final nail in Freddie's coffin. There can be no resurrecting his body after this one.
