I liked this movie. Many of which reasons have little to do with the movie making abilities of John Stockwell. But to his credit, the surfing scenes worked well. The story, however fraught with holes, is relevant to almost everyone if you substitute the surfing and apply the tagline, if you want to feel the rush you have to take the risk. The protagonist is bound by indecision when the choice is clear, if not easy. At various points her fear demands action from those around her, but finally and almost painfully, she realizes that the hurdle is only hers to overcome. That is the universal anguish.
