If this film was released 25 years ago, it would have seemed refreshing, but now, it comes across as a pale imitation of 1987's "Robocop". While Peter Weller's law enforcer had a humanity to him, Karl Urban is truly robotic. Sadly, Sylvester Stallone was better in his portrayal as Dredd. The only interesting personalities/characters are the new recruit and the villain Ma-Ma (played by the sexy Lena Headey) This movie is violent in a cartoonish way and I liked the slow-motion parts and Dredd's weapon, but is definitely a lower-budgeted effort; as evident by the poor 3D effects.
