Everest was one of my most anticipated films for the rest of the year. The cast was filled to the brim with amazing actors, the story looked interesting and the cinematography looked beautiful. Well, after having experienced this film, my expectations were surpassed and Everest is one of the best films of the year so far!
The acting is fantastic. Jason Clarke gives his BEST performance as Rob Hall, the guide. The supporting cast are all excellent. Jake Gyllenhaal, though not in the film too much, delivers another amazing performance. Kiera Knightly, John Hawkes, Emily Watson, Sam Worthington, Josh Brolin and Robin Wright all deliver realistic and dramatic performances.
Everest has some of the best cinematography, effects and makeup I've seen all year. It is rare that I say that I've "experienced" a film, but Everest was a film that was built to be seen on the biggest screen possible! I saw it in IMAX 3D and holy crap, I was amazed.
The first hour of the film is all build-up. It's mainly character development. It works for the most part, but barely anything happens until the 1-hour mark. I feel like some scenes in this part could have been cut, and it would have made the film feel tighter. The second hour, however, is some of the most intense filmmaking I've seen all year. I was clenching my armrests for the full hour. It is emotional, suspenseful and extremely brutal. Everest is definitely not a feel-good movie. However, it is an experience I would love to go through many more times!
Overall, Everest is brutal, intense and a visual masterpiece. The characters are interesting, the acting is excellent all around and the cinematography is drop-dead gorgeous. See it on the biggest screen possible!
RATING: 8.9/10.

I like your point system though it can never stand as valid. You write well for a young person, a refreshing thing to note. Keep it up!
Yes I was noting your writing style and then fascinated by your age group. If you write like this now, I think you truly have a gift that can be cultivated. I am just about to write my review and wholeheartedly agreed that the film is a true masterpiece in so many ways. It surpassed all my expectations. Thanks for the review!
