Once again, I was taken in by the hype. Ninety percent of this film is just the characters talking to each other about the psychology of dreams. Apparently, the story is just a dream within a dream within a dream within a dream... What exactly was DiCaprio and his gang trying to steal? And there was only one sequence that I thought had interesting special effects. I wish that I had fallen asleep during this snoozefest and dreamed that I was watching a good movie.

Click here to show this comment. Perhaps you didn't get the connection between the opening scene and the rest of the film? They were not trying to steal anything; they were changing the way Fischer saw things so that he would make a different decision upon his father's death. If they managed that feat then Saito would open the way for Cobb to return home. It has many levels of understanding but the one I offer is the most superficial. Were you confused because Cobb was known as a thief? That of course was part of the twist because instead of taking information out of someone's mind, this time he had to put something in - and it had to feel a good or natural thought to Fischer the "recipient." Sorry you missed the point of this amazing film. Hope this helps.
