I enjoyed this picture, and it easily could have been an even better movie if it was just 20 to 30 minutes shorter; 2:15' was just a little too long for the subject. On the plus side the story and dialogue was well done, Brad Pitt made for a convincing GM of the Oakland Athletics baseball team and the other actors were great in their roles as well. Moneyball shows you what it's like inside a professional sports team and convincingly portrays what manager Billy Bean - portrayed by Pitt - was up against as he and his assistant manager try to develop an effective strategy to compete with the 'big- market' teams like the N. Y. Yankees and Boston Red Sox. The movie does a good job in portraying what they were able to accomplish with their new system of player management. Edit out the sub-plot family stuff and you have a movie that is at least an 8 or possibly 9 out of 10.
