The only thing about Sisters that I was excited for was JOHN CENA!!! I'm being fully serious, though. Though I do like the chemistry between Amy Poehler and Tina Fey, Sisters wasn't a movie that I really wanted to see. Well, my family got to pick the movie this time, so I was stuck with it. And, though it had its moments, Sisters was pretty much what I expected it to be.
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are awesome together. You could tell that in real life, they're very close. The supporting cast is pretty mediocre, except for our Lord and saviour John Cena. All jokes aside, he was probably the best part of the movie. Every scene he was in was flat-out hilarious.
Sisters is very uneven and messy. Many parts drag on way longer than they should (*cough* the house-party *cough*) The writing is also odd, with many genuinely funny scenes paired with unfunny and awkward moments. I laughed a few times, but not as much as I would have liked to.
The story is very predictable and clichéd, but that's not really important. However, for some reason, the story really focuses on trying to make the audience feel for these characters. It doesn't work very well, unfortunately, and takes away from the comedy.
Overall, Sisters is a mediocre comedy that has a couple of funny moments. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have great chemistry, but the film is too uneven and messy to recommend. Rent it if you're interested.
