This gem is so true to real life situations we've all heard of but so rarely seen on the big screen, that I was shocked out of cinematic lethargy for the time being. More importantly, however, a woman is artfully portrayed by Aniston in a way that most of us know, but dare whisper: women can be cunning, manipulative, and downright evil at times. The 'Pollyanna' myth is just that--a myth. Of course her character has redeeming features too; she is a complex person, full of 'good' and 'bad'. Neither is this film for the 'mid-aged', as one 'critic' proclaims, as it truly shows the connection between actions and consequences, something most youth are no longer taught.'The Good Girl' has many more layers though, both loud and subtle; one is struck by the constant portrayal of characters in their natural habitant which most of us also unfortunately occupy -- that of being transfixed in front of the television. This is one movie which says tons about the world we live in, without spoon-feeding us like children. It's a movie about adults, for adults. My only negative comment is that at no time does the picture really 'emote'; this is much more of a 'thinking' journey.
