The Good Girl is a good movie that entertained me throughout. This picture takes a bleak view of small town American life by showing us the dismal existence of Justine, (played by Jennifer Aniston) an unfulfilled thirty-year-old married woman working in a discount store in an unnamed Texas town. The story is littered with entertaining dark humor that pokes fun at many things about modern American life. The story is compelling if you can identify with Justine's loneliness and feelings of hopelessness within her marriage and job. Justine attempts to find happiness by escaping into the arms of another man which brings on as you might expect- many problems and complications for her and those around her. The action of the story is believable even if the characters involved are not, and while the ending of the story has much tragedy, Justine is able to find some meaning and hope for the future. This is a must see film for Aniston fans who would like to see her in a role far removed from that on Friends..
