This is one of those movies that linger in your mind long after you've left the theatre. It is excellent across the board - acting, script, cinematography, music. Yes, the subject matter makes it difficult to watch at times but that's the importance of a film like this. We experience things through Szpilman's eyes and if we turn away, we're denying the hardships and horrors this man endured. I completely agree with the reviewer who states this film is not about the Holocaust. It is about one man's powerful will to survive.
