An enjoyable movie overall. Ben Affleck did a credible job in his role, but I was disappointed in Morgan Freeman's lack of screen time. He is certainly relegated to supporting-role status. This is Ben's show all the way. On the negative side, near the end of the film, Ryan is able to fit all the pieces of the puzzle together a little too neatly. I haven't read the book, so I'm not sure how it plays out there, but I imagine there must have been more complexities involved. I realize you can only do so much in a 2 hour movie, but still... On the positive side, even though you pretty much know what the outcome will be, the escalating tensions between the US and Russia are portrayed well. Before 9/11, one could have easily dismissed this as being "just a movie". In the world we live in now, the events in the movie seem all too plausible. Scary.
