If you are a fan of the Friday the 13th series, then this movie is worth seeing if just for the interesting re-telling of the Jason story. I was a die-hard fan, so I was not going to miss seeing this one on the big screen. All in all, it's not that bad, but it certainly could and should have been much better, especially with the name Michael Bay (Mr Hollywood Blockbuster) attached to it. I will give it this... the opening scene (the part before the movie title) is pretty sweet. And I do love some of the changes in Jason's abilities and powers. Some of the later Friday movies went beyond fromage. This one stuck more to the basics. But don't go into this movie expecting something new and fresh, because it's not. It contains a lot of the same typical default scenes found in many of the previous Friday movies, whether they make sense or not (and most of them don't make sense) Is it bloody? Yup. So no disappointment there, except for a few killing scenes you don't see at all, just hear... but that's consistent with the older Friday flicks. Is there nudity? More than ever. I have never seen so many breasts in a Friday movie before. It's gratuitous, it's unnecessary... and I guess it was to be expected!!! But compared to the other Michael Bay driven remake of a horror movie classic (Texas Chainsaw Massacre), Friday the 13th doesn't deliver all the promised goods. It doesn't really matter though, because he who says Michael Bay says sequel guaranteed, whether it's deserved or not.
