After the incredible Casino Royale, it was impossible not to be anxiously awaiting its follow-up. Daniel Craig rejuvenated the Bond image. He may not have been most people's choice, but once you saw Casino Royale, you were sold as to his Bondness!!! People were surprised when the 2nd Daniel Craig as James Bond title was announced," Quantum of Solace". Of the Bond series titles, it was one of the lesser catchy ones. But we still had high expectations. Until today. Having now seen QoS (to avoid retyping the entire title), I can easily rate it a 5/10 and say it was just a so so movie, not worth the price of admission. QoS is slower than its predecessor, it has many more dragging parts, the story is packed with holes, the action sequences are often shot too fast so you cannot appreciate them, the typical bad guy wasn't as "good" as previous bad guys... and the typical "Bond girls" (well there really is only one, as the 2nd one is in there for the quickest of shags) are also quite subpar. So this movie disappoints on several levels: it's too slow, has a too complicated storyline, has a less than villain bad guy, less than stellar Bond girls, and badly shot action sequences. In a nutshell, this Bond has absolutely nothing on the Bourne franchise (which remained consistently amazing!!!) I can only hope that they make up for this bad outing with Daniel Craig's 3rd Bond flick in a few years.
