I am not a Brad Pitt fan whatsoever. But I bit the bullet and went, for the sake of the entire movie. And I was pleasantly surprised. It is a good movie, worth seeing. And thanks to the wonders of CGI, you don't see Brad Pitt (himself) very long, it's mostly Pitt retro-CGI'd to be older or younger. This is a kind of fairytale movie, with a feel-good moral. It is a long movie (just under 2 hours and 40 minutes), but you don't feel any dragging as you are going through a good story with great heart. Kind of like Forrest Gump meets Simon Birch. The movie itself is good, but let me set the record straight: I really don't understand the Brad Pitt nominations for his acting. Yes, I am not a fan of Pitt's, but I am also capable of giving an actor his due if deserved. His performance is more special effects than acting. 7/10. Good movie, worth seeing, but not because of Pitt.
