    Child 44

Russia is at the height of its powers in 1953 and the ordinary citizen is but a pawn in the efficiency of the running of a state. How far can one man be pushed as he loses literally everything that makes him human? It's all frightening to witness how status, power and your very home can and will be taken from you without the co-operation the state wants.
