    Maurice Richard

Good if predictable film about a hockey icon way before the likes of Wayne Gretsky, when hockey was the only real thing that mattered in the life of millions of Québecois. Indeed the film points out the differences with hockey back in a golden era and hockey today when even the least talented is paid triple what the Rocket ever earned. It points out a legend of a man who had a burning desire to play at whatever cost, a man who was thoroughly French Canadian and very proud of his heritage. Not necessary to be a hockey junkie to enjoy this film. The story is great enough to transcend the sports world into one which is plainly human!
