John Huston created a masterpiece with 'The Treasure of the Sierra Madre'. It is a film that exemplifies all the beastly and unruly features of humanity. The cinematography in B & W helps to convey the whole dark experience which life can be. I can't imagine seeing it in colour. Very good script and direction. John Huston directed his father Walter to a Best Supporting Oscar in 1948 as the old prospector. This film should have been Best Film of 1948 losing out to the long, boring Hamlet of Laurence Olivier.
