Brooklyn

This movie would have been much better with less melodrama. Although the acting and recreation of the era were very good, there were things about the plot that did not make any sense to me.  Spoiler alert - click to reveal textI am referring to her return to Ireland and her taking up with that new beau. Why would she do that being in love with another man and having just married him? Why did she need to keep her marriage a secret? Wouldn't she at least have told her best girlfriend? Up until her return to Ireland the plot worked very well but kind of fell apart for me after that.
