For starters, the title of the film is controversial and smells somewhat of trouble though one would give little thought to this idea! Think about it! A movie of little worth that takes on the rather gigantic issue of racism which to my mind is considerable given the long struggle with the problem as old as the Republic of the U. S. itself. It really boils down to an insidious sort of film trying to masquerade behind a comedic satire which is not funny in the least as it attempts to capture race relations at a post secondary fictional University. One can only conclude that racism is alive and well in the U. S. One would assume otherwise with a young, more "enlightened" college crowd far removed from the race riots of the 1950's, but unfortunately I don't believe this is the case. All those calling the film funny, provocative, intelligent, poignant really should have their heads examined. Frankly, the film is offensive and disturbing, Intentional or not. It's a political football of the worst kind present in spades.
