A totally unsatisfying film that should have worked a lot better than it did with the great stable of actors who were cast. However, re-makes seldom reach the potential of their original; in most cases they are really bad. I think highly of Colin Firth and his team, but the the screen play was messy and the direction not much better. It seems to be a film that disappeared as quickly as it appeared a number of years back. Skip it on DVD or whatever product you use to see home movies.
