What we have here is a script for a play done as a film. The action was very text-rich and as such it became difficult to sustain the audience's attention for the prolonged duration in the filmic medium. This kind of presentation is more sustainable in the theater where the audience expects (and is more apt to sit through) hours of text-rich dialogue--especially when performed by strong actors. This is not to say that text-rich dialogue scripts cannot be done as films--they can, and they have--it's just that the text in combination with the acting and direction needs to really good. That said, this work wasn't bad at all. I liked the style of the dark comedy and there was some great acting. I got the point of the story, but on the whole found it quite difficult to sit through the 115 minutes. Some value.
