I didn't object much to the film in terms of film though it was making its point a bit vehemently. It reminded me a good deal of the old 'Inherit the Wind' in which a teacher is on trial for his views on evolution with the consequence of losing his job. I'm a Christian so the content of God 2 does not disturb me. What disturbs me foremost is that there would be a sequel at all. My feeling was to check out the film to observe how far the 'Jesus' affair would evolve. I certainly would not advocate denying anyone the right to anything of a religious nature, not in Christianity, Judaism, Islam or denominations therein. My problem lies in direct, if innocent, proselytizing on the screen which can often lead to something equally disturbing or ugly as we indeed do witness. Should we curtail or deny someone's zealous but honest opinion on an article of faith or in the belief of a religious leader past or present? My reply: Church and State should remain separate provinces at all times. Religion is a divisive theme in the 21st century as it always has been in the past. Best Bet: Avoid such themes in film and in public matters altogether.

The artificial distribution of review ratings may be a statistical anomaly -- or it may show that only "believers" were interested in the film, much like the Scientologists who were ordered to go pay to watch "Battlefield Earth" to inflate its ratings. Interpret the numbers with caution, and realize that more than the merits of the film are going on here.
