My review will be quite lengthy so I apologize in advance. I'm not sure about this movie, it's like people are afraid to give it a bad rating. It's kinda like that story where the emperor walks around with no clothes on, but people don't want to be seen as different so they don't tell him. This movie is like that in the respect that no-one wants to admit they didn't understand it. The plot itself is rather simple, but I felt like the plot should have been deeper for such an elaborate movie. (I do understand the movie was more than a crime) I do admire the fact that the movie doesn't just use action or cheesy jokes to attract attention, but instead expects the viewers to think while including some action and suspense. I must say I would have given the movie a bit higher of a rating if not for the unsatisfactory ending. I see it like an essay, you won't get a good mark if you don't have a proper conclusion. I'm of course only giving my viewpoint, some will marvel at this movie, but beware, some will also want to tear their eyes out, and or burn down the theatre.

You, my friend, missed the whole point of the movie. Reality is subjective. The movie can't have a satisfactory ending because, like all great works of art, it is there to ask a question and make you think. Giving you the answer defeats the purpose.
I understand completely what you are saying, and looking back a certain part of my review was poorly written (the part saying the plot was simple) What I was actually trying to say was that the Idea of the movie (dream theft) and what they were doing (basically corrupting a corporation) was simple. This was obviously a movie designed to get you to think, and he was batteling his personal demons as well. I just found this movie left a bad taste in my mouth in the end, but I do appreciate your comment.
Please tell me how is the story complex? To me it is extremely simple and straightforward. It's by no mean a mind bending scenario!
I would take you a lot more seriously if you didn't rate Twilight over Inception...
It was an interesting review and I understand your analogy--how you look at the movie as an essay with a week conclusion because, in essays, we are told to not present any new material, and instead, conclusively end the essay. This analogy is good insofar as a movie is not expected to have a sequel. But you see, this is exactly why your analogy breaks down in this case since, we will, quite likely, have an Inception 2. So, in this case, it is quite alright to have a major question in the end and this keeps us busy contemplating and anxiously wait for Inception 2. I As for the other point that you have made, that people don't get it and are afraid to admit this. Well, you could be true but, I guess, the onus is on you to provide evidence for why the plot is significantly inconsistent.
With all due respect the plot was quite complex. Would you like me to explain the intricacies of it for you? Perhaps you are simply unable to comprehend it? No offence. It is a movie that requires more than one viewing to fully comprehend and appreciate it. When it is out on DVD I will purchase it and watch it over and over. The ending, in my perception, is just fine. It seems to me that you have some extravagant expectations of the filmmakers and the movie itself that can not be fulfilled according to your wants and needs. In the end it is just a fictional story that has no true meaning played out by actors who are pretending in a cold blue room so the special effects can be added later to create the final film so you can think and say whatever you please just like the rest of us.
Interesting review. You certainly don't need to apologize for anything. You seem too defensive. The rest of us, just want to hear what you have to say... so just tell us without reservation.
I have a different style of review, Twilight although a romantic, rather slow film when compared with Inception, was good for the genre it was classified as. Inception was also good, but overly-complex in my opinion, and although I may not have understood all of Inception I did understand the main point and the overall result. Twilight was a better movie in the its genre than Inception was in its genre that is my main point. Also, Inception was a bit of a let-down for me while twilight surprised me so that affects it as well. Thank you for your opinion.
